Private Pula and Olive Oil Tasting

Situated on the southernmost tip of the Istrian Peninsula, find yourself immersed in 3,000 years of Greek, Roman, and Croatian history. Take a walking tour of Pula, stopping at its well-known amphitheater along the way, and then stop by a nearby olive oil estate to taste some of their prize-winning products.

The vibrant city of Pula is recognized for its array of preserved ancient Roman ruins, the most well-known and well-preserved of which is the spectacular Roman amphitheater from the first century. Your tour guide will show you around this spectacular building, which was previously the site of gladiatorial contests up until the year 400 AD but is currently utilized for events like concerts and film festivals. After enjoy a walking tour of the city's quaint streets.

Olive trees were another Roman import to the region, and ever since the trees were brought there centuries ago, Istria has been producing olive oil. In the nearby village of Vodnjan, you'll visit the Chiavalon family farm - famous for producing top quality extra virgin olive oils. Take part in an olive oil tasting while dining on delectable Croatian specialties and drinking locally made wine. The estate's prize-winning olive oils are ranked among the top 15 in the world. The world-famous olive oil guide L'extravergine, has declared this to be the "most promising [olive] farm in the world."

Please Note: The drive to Pula is around 1 hour each way. Local currency is recommended if you wish to make purchases at the olive oil estate.
